The University of Michigan and Northwestern Michigan University will be here Wednesday,

Seniors – if you are planning on attending CMU, have a 3.7 gpa, and a 27 on your ACT, you could take part in the Centralis and Honors Scholarship Competition on November 16.  The deadline to register is Friday, November 8.  Go to www.cmich.edu/centralis

Courtesy Driving School will offer segment I driver training starting Monday, November 4.  Classes will run Monday-Thursday from 7-9 p.m. and finish on Thursday, November 21.  The complete cost is $254.  Segment II will run November 25, 26 and December 2 from 7-9 p.m. Information is located outside the high school office.

 

The Missaukee County Road Commission requests student and parent cooperation through the winter months while snowplowing is taking place.  Please be aware of the fact that the plows are on the roads many mornings at the same time buses are picking up students.  You are urged to make sure that students wait a safe distance from the plowed portion of the roadway until the bus actually arrives at their stop.  It is important that everyone works together to make certain of student safety.

Sophomores and juniors – this is the last week to sign up to take the PSAT on Wednesday,

October 16 in the morning.  There is a sign-up sheet in the office.

 

Volunteers are needed to help out at the Lake City Chamber of Commerce Annual Banquet.  It will be held on Tuesday, October 15 at the American Legion.  Volunteers will need to be there by 5:45 p.m. and will be done by 7:30 p.m.  You will get a free dinner for helping to clear tables, serve coffee, and clean up.  Sign up in Mrs. Richardson’s office for a community volunteer experience.

 

The Wexford-Missaukee Career Tech Center will be hosting its annual open house on Thursday, October 17, from 5-7 p.m.   Check out the great programs that are offered for our students.

Seniors - we need four sellers for 50/50 tickets at the football game Friday night.  Football players not allowed.  Please let Mr. Bongard know if you can participate.

 

SENIORS – Jostens will be here tomorrow to take orders for announcements and cap and gown sets.  See them during lunch in the library.  If you need an order packet or have questions see Ms. Gilson.

 

Math tutoring is scheduled for tomorrow in Mrs. VanderBrook’s room.

 

Science tutoring is scheduled for today in Mrs. Thom’s and Mrs. VanderBrook’s room.

 

Mobile dentist forms must be turned in to Miss Holly this Friday.

 

COUNSELOR’S CORNER

 

If you are a high school girl who drives, there is a babysitting opportunity for 3 days per week after school for 3-4 hours.  See Mrs. Richardson if you are interested.

 

Sophomores and juniors – this is the last week to sign up to take the PSAT on Wednesday, October 16 in the morning.  There is a sign-up sheet in the office.

 

Volunteers are needed to help out at the Lake City Chamber of Commerce Annual Banquet.  It will be held on Tuesday, October 15 at the American Legion.  Volunteers will need to be there by 5:45 p.m. and will be done by 7:30 p.m.  You will get a free dinner for helping to clear tables, serve coffee, and clean up.  Sign up in Mrs. Richardson’s office for a community volunteer experience.

 

Hope College will be here today.  Lake Superior State University, Grand Valley State, and Saginaw Valley will be here tomorrow.  If you would like to see a representative, sign up in the office before or after school, or during lunch.

 

The Wexford-Missaukee Career Tech Center will be hosting its annual open house on Thursday, October 17, from 5-7 p.m.   Check out the great programs that are offered for our students.
